Meet Brandon Print E-mail

A lifelong-Kansan of 18 years, Brandon has been educated in Kansas public schools his entire life, having attended the Shawnee Mission Public School District for K-12 grades.  From editing the front page of the high school newspaper to traveling to D.C. for Model U.N. with the law and politics club, Brandon was an active student, earning academic achievements while demonstrating his commitment to service and leadership in and out of the classroom.  After graduating from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School with a 4.4 GPA and numerous honors, Brandon attended Creighton University, graduating in 2008 with his Bachelor of Science-Business Administration in Marketing and a co-major in Political Science.  Brandon graduated “Summa Cum Laude” with top honors.

While in college, Brandon served as president of his College Republicans chapter and initiated the “Operation Uplink” fundraiser on his campus—a project performed in conjunction with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to raise funds to purchase phone cards for active duty military around the globe.  Due to Brandon’s efforts, the service opportunity has now become an annual event at Creighton—the first (and still the only) college campus in the country to formally participate in the program.  Brandon also tutored student athletes on a volunteer basis, served leadership roles in his business fraternity, honor society, and marketing club, worked as a fundraiser for the university’s annual fund, and served in the Student Alumni Association.

Brandon now lives in Shawnee and is employed as an Account Executive with Validity Screening Solutions, an Overland Park-based, nationally-known provider of background check services.  Brandon won his first election at 20 years old in 2006, and he now serves as a Republican precinct committeeman for the city of Shawnee on the Johnson County Republican Committee.  As in intern for Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS) in Washington, D.C. in the spring of 2006, Brandon researched potential federal legislation and crafted responses to constituents.  Currently, Brandon is also active in the Knights of Columbus, the Creighton Alumni Association, the American Marketing Association, and the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity Alumni Association.  Brandon’s commitment to education extends beyond the classroom: he is an ardent supporter and patron of the Johnson County Library system and even served as a member of their Young Adult Advisory Council (YAAC).  Brandon enjoys playing tennis, blogging, reading the news, and working in local political campaigns during his spare time.
